Sew or No Sew roller shade….

These roller shades have seen better days….

The roller underneath is in perfect working order.
I had bought fabric for this project in January before the pandemic.  This is one of my many projects that I’ll get to when I have time.  I have some free time, now.

I found this at my favorite discount fabric store.  It’s vinyl on one side and crème with gray fabric on the other side.

I spread my project across the floor.  I cut the length first, and then I cut off both edges. Straight!

I chose to sew the hem 1.5 inches to have room for a dowel rod to slide through and give the bottom of the shade a little something to hold onto.

You could easily glue the hem on this project.

With a dark pen, I marked where the fabric came off the roller and to help me to line it up straight.  I glued the edge of the fabric down, and wrapped the fabric around the roller.

I put the roller up in the same brackets.  It’s a very simple and easy project to update windows, and control the light and keep the chill or heat out of the room.

I love the way my windows look.  I’ve packed my winter curtains and have my summer curtains up.  The light brightens my mood even on these dreary rainy days we’ve been having.
